Beatriz Osorio-Go

To a woman of hope and visions, signing for the deaf has never been more meaningful though at times challenging. Mrs. Beatriz Osorio Go who has been interpreting for the deaf for over 25 years believes in hard work and complete reverence to God to attain success. This woman sets her priorities well

and makes sure they are achieved without being too competitive with her colleagues. She balances her successful career in sign language interpreting with her sensitivity to create good things for her fellow interpreter.

Ms. Beatriz Go, a caliber interpreter of her generation, has been signing in the religious, medical and educational arena with much credibility since 1981 after being certified by the Philippine Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (PRID). The Service Award for her 25 years in the deaf service by the Philippine Catholic Organization of the Deaf and the Outstanding Service Provider Award are among the best awards that she has received in her interpreting career. Nevertheless, The Golden Hands Awards given by the Philippine Association of Interpreters for Deaf Empowerment, one of the best and well established sign language training institution in the country, is as equally important as the awards that came ahead.

She has played an important role as the sign language trainer/evaluator and consultant at the Archdiocese of Manila-Office of Persons with Disabilities and the Imus Diocesan Deaf Ministry. She has also actively interpreted for the deaf during some of the most important historical religious events that have taken place in our country like the 1995 World Youth Day, 1996 World Youth Day Anniversary, 1996 Marian Congress and the 4 th World Meeting of Families in 2002. She is currently the religious education supervisor and outreach program coordinator at the Catholic Ministry to Deaf People, Inc.

Blessed with the determination to succeed while consenting to be of service to others, Ms. Beatriz Osorio Go finds support from the

people she admires dearly, her deaf husband Alexander F. Go and her three children.

“To my husband, Alexander; my 3 grown up children, Albert Noel, Anthony Benedict and Marie Abigail Bernadette who became my inspiration throughout my interpreting life; to Ma. Luz Sarah Chen, who has been more than a sister to me and who has helped improve my interpreting skills and; more importantly, to the Catholic Ministry to Deaf People, Inc. for giving me the chance to prove my skills, THANK YOU SO MUCH!” - Beth Go
